I hope the Team in Training athletes enjoyed their rest day as much as I did. I just had a quiet day around the house. We did a few chores and some yard work. Tomorrow the schedule picks back up with a 2 mile run.
"Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don't be impressed with yourself. Don't compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life."Galatians 6:4-5
In his book EPIC, John Eldredge proposes the idea that we are drawn to the great movies and stories because they are a reflection of the idea that we are all participants in a great story or a great adventure such as Braveheart or Lord of the Rings.
The question from The Hobbit , Samwise Gamgee, comes to mind. "I wonder what sort of stories they will write about us."
My story starts with me as a military brat, I was born in Canada and traveled from there to Minnesota, California, and Tennessee before I settled in Mississippi as a 7 year old.
Since then I have gone to School, Married my Grade School Sweetheart, Started a family and traveled to a lot of interesting places.
I've had the joyous experience of watching the beginnings of some stories and the bittersweet times of watching the end to others.
All of these stories combine to become a part of my story.
The story so far has had more ups than downs and I feel blessed to have this life.
Thanks for looking as I attempt to share a small part of my story.
